Morning, lovelies! I’ve discussed in the past that I’m not a big fan of bloggers who constantly do book blasts/promo posts, but I’m making an exception for this one, so you know it’s something special!
To say I’m a fan of Brigid Kemmerer’s Elemental series is, well, putting it lightly. I LOVE these books and have forced them on SO many people it’s slightly ridiculous.
I’m ecstatic to share Secret‘s cover with you this morning, but first I want to
fangirl tell you a little about this series:
In our world there are a select few who can control an element – air, water, fire, & earth. Then there are an even smaller number of people who can control all five and enhance the powers of other Elementals around them. Life’s not all sunshine and rainbows however: there are Guides tracking any Elemental they feel poses a threat and the Merrick boys are in their sights.
Storm (my review!) kicks the story off with Chris, the youngest of the boys and the one who can control water. A fellow classmate, Becca, gets mixed up in his world and we also meet a new student, Hunter. Storm set up the world beautifully and instantly had me hooked.
Spark (my review!) focuses on one of the twins, Gabriel. Gabe and Nick are the most popular guys in school and total playboys. What these girls don’t know, however, is that Gabe has the ability to control fire. Throw in an arsonist, a Plain Jane, and a meet-up with a Guide, and you’re in for an excellent time.
Spirit (my review!) switches things up a bit by focusing on Hunter Garrity. This book is by far the darkest of the three and is definitely character-driven. Hunter is such a misunderstood character and I was shocked by how much my feelings for him changed after reading Spirit. Also, this book heavily features Michael Merrick, the oldest brother and my absolute favorite ♥
In addition to the three novels there are some side stories as well: Elemental is Michael’s story and is a prequel of sorts. It sets the pace for the rest of the series and explains some of the backstory. Fearless deals with Hunter and provides some more insight to his character and Breathless (my review!) is all about Nick and reveals a HUGE secret that I was so not expecting!
& a little about this novel:
Nowhere is safe. Not even home…
Nick Merrick is stretched to the breaking point.
Keep his grades sky-high or he’ll never escape his hometown.
Keep his brother’s business going or the Merricks will be out on the street.
Keep the secret of where he’s going in the evenings from his own twin—or he’ll lose his family.
Keep his mind off the hot, self-assured dancer who’s supposed to be his “girlfriend’s” partner.
Of course there’s also the homicidal freak Quinn has taken to hanging around, and the Elemental Guide counting the hours until he can try again to kill the Merrick brothers. There’s a storm coming. From all sides. And then some.
Nick Merrick, can you keep it together?
INSERT FLAILY ARMS HERE!!! Secret comes out January 28, 2014 and I’ll be waiting with grabby hands until then.
