WoW: spreading the Middle Grade love

I’m a HUGE fan of Middle Grade and, guys, there are some seriously awesome ones coming out soon!!

August 29, 2013

A problem has occurred in London: all nature of ghosts, haunts, and spirits are appearing throughout the city, and they aren’t exactly friendly. Only young people have the psychic abilities required to see – and, hopefully, eradicate – the supernatural enemies. Many different Psychic Detection Agencies have cropped up to handle the dangerous work, and they are in fierce competition for business.

I have a terrible confession to make: even though I own The Bartimaeus Trilogy, I have yet to read it. :( HORRIBLE I know. Still, I was super excited when I heard Stroud was writing a new series & this one sounds like a lot of fun!

17080054 Mister Max: The Book of Lost Things (Mister Max #1) by Cynthia Voigt
September 10, 2013

Max Starling’s theatrical father likes to say that at twelve a boy is independent. He also likes to boast (about his acting skills, his wife’s acting skills, a fortune only his family knows is metaphorical), but more than anything he likes to have adventures. Max Starling’s equally theatrical mother is not a boaster but she enjoys a good adventure as much as her husband. When these two disappear, what can sort-of-theatrical Max and his not-at-all theatrical grandmother do? They have to wait to find out something, anything, and to worry, and, in Max’s case, to figure out how to earn a living at the same time as he maintains his independence.

If this book is anywhere near as great as the other Book of Lost Things I’ll be in for a good time. Ha! Really though, this one could be cute and that cover is simply stunning. Also: Mister Max is a ridiculously adorable name.

No description yet. :(

& now for the one I’m most excited about! The first book, The Colossus Rises, has generated the second highest number of views/searches, just barely trailing behind Kate Morton’s The Secret Keeper. I absolutely adored the first book and have been waiting to hear news about the sequel.

Here it is and I. Am. PUMPED.
